About Us

Our Team

Colorado FriendShip is a 100% volunteer organization. We depend on the support of individuals and businesses throughout Colorado and invite you to learn more about what we do to help others in our state. The philosophy behind our 100% volunteer policy is quite simple. Because we pay no salaries, Colorado FriendShip is able to purchase more food, provide more shelter and acquire more clothing to help those in need.

How Colorado Friendship Came to Be

Colorado FriendShip is a division of the National Emergency Response Team  (NERT), a 501(c)3 tax-exempt, non-profit corporation.  NERT was founded by four brothers in 1993 in response to the devastation of Hurricane Andrew.  Pooling their talents, resources and expertise in the transportation industry, the NERT founders have mobilized hundreds of volunteers nationwide, challenging them to explore innovative ways to serve their local communities in an effort to fulfill the NERT mission of “People Helping People.”
